BBQ Veggie Pita Pizzas

Pita pizzas are seriously so amazing! Especially if they are home-made or close to home-made as possible. This recipe features store-bought pitas for faster cooking, but you're more than welcome to try to make your own! Check out my pita bread recipe in the search bar if you're interested! BBQ Pita Bread Pizzas Recipe:


Yield: 4 Pizzas

Cook Time: 15 Min

Ingredients:

- 4 Pita Breads

- 4oz BBQ Sauce

- ¼ Whole Red Onion, Sliced Thinly

- ¼ Cup Red Bell Peppers, Chopped

- ½ Whole Zucchini, Cut Into Half Moon Slices

- 1/8 Cup Vegan Feta Cheese

- ¼ Cup French’s Fried Onions

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2. Prepare veggies by first washing and drying them.

3. Next, chop the red onions, zucchini, and red bell peppers.

4. Spread 2 tbsp of BBQ sauce onto each pita bread.

5. Layer zucchini slices, red bell peppers, red onion, vegan feta cheese, and French’s fried onions on top of pita breads.

6. Place pizzas on a sheet tray or pizza stone. Bake for 7-8 minutes until the cheese begins to melt slightly and the veggies are toasted slightly.

7. Cut the pizzas in half for easier eating, if desired, enjoy!

Tips/Tricks:

- If preparing a vegan version of this recipe, please make sure the BBQ sauce does not contain honey. A few name brand BBQ sauces are vegan, however.

- I used Follow Your Heart Dairy-free Feta Crumbles Cheese Alternative.
