Today's post a slightly random... Now, you may be wondering why would I ever use chive oil? Well here are some wonderful uses:
-whisking into vinaigrettes
-flavoring pasta salads
-creating beautiful designs on a plate
You can quickly make this recipe. and impress your friends and family with your unique cooking skills, just thought I'd share, I hope you enjoy!
Chive Oil Recipe:
Yield: 1/3 Cup
Cook Time: 5 Min
Ingredients:
- ½ Cup Vegetable Oil
- 1 ½ Tbsp Chives, Chopped Small
- 1/8 Cup Spinach
- 1 Squirt Lemon Juice
- 1 Tbsp Cold Water
Directions:
1. Place all ingredients in a blender.
2. Blend for about 2 minutes.
3. Strain the oil using a fine mesh strainer or cheese cloth.
4. Pour into a bottle or a dish with a spout for easier pouring, enjoy!
Tips/Tricks:
- Want a really bright green oil? Try blanching the chives in boiling water and then shocking them in ice water before blending up!
- Try using chive oil in your next pasta salad dish and taste how it elevates the simplest items!
